He Is Risen Indeed: An Easter Sunday Devotional

The words that changed everything. Four millennia after creation, countless predictions, and now the moment has arrived. Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome came expecting grief and found the tomb open, empty, and an angel seated where Jesus had been laid. “He has risen, he is not here.”

The birth, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus carry the complete story of humanity, a final statement of authority claimed across centuries and now proven. The baby Herod tried to erase, the boy debating in the temple courts, the healer who changed lives with a word, the sacrifice made for you and me. The story of the ages asks only one thing in return.

Believe.

Not at the level of belief the demons have, who know exactly who he is and tremble but cannot change. The belief that saves. The kind that gets into your bones and rearranges you. Full trust and full surrender to the one who walked out of that tomb. The kind of faith the disciples would go on to prove through obedience and eventually their own deaths. Transformational faith.

Text it out today. “He is Risen”. And in response, you can say, “He is Risen Indeed.”

And if you are still curious, not sure where to go next, reach out. The life-giving, transforming power that was proven thousands of years ago is still happening today.

Have you decided to follow Jesus?
Who do you need to share it with today?
