Go and Grow

2 Peter 3:17-18 “You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.²” (ESV)

Peter, Petros, the Rock, pens his final words with this.

Take Care – beware of wrong teaching

Be Stable – remember what you’ve learned

Grow – in both grace and knowledge

There should be no such thing as an idle Christian. 

Or as John Maxwell puts it, “An unintentional life accepts everything and does nothing. An intentional life embraces only the things that will add to the mission of significance.” 

There will always be much debate in sports about what wins championships: offense or defense. For the Christian, defense is a necessary equipping in the offensive movement toward heaven. 

We need both, but we lean forward!

Stay on Mission
